We have been asked many times over the years if clubs can schedule non-licensed hunts through the HTDA. The answer is now, YES!
As most hunters know, in order for a club to hold a hunt or field trial in the state of Indiana, the club must first obtain a field trial permit from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). In order for the IDNR to issue this permit, the event must be scheduled by an approved “Sanctioning Body”. The HTDA is now an approved “Sanctioning Body”.
Here is how the program will work:
•Your club must be a current HTDA Sponsor Club to participate
•There will be NO CHARGE for scheduling your hunt through the HTDA
•Provide Steve with all pertinent event details; date, time, type of hunt, etc.
•Steve will inform the IDNR of your event
•You may then request an IDNR Field Trial Permit
•Your event details will be posted on the HTDA Message Board
